Pick a photo with clear contrast

Diamond painting charts lose detail when the original image is dark, blurry, or crowded. Portraits, pets, flowers, and icons with clear edges work best.

Match grid size to canvas size

Larger grids preserve more detail but require more drills. Use 48x48 or 64x64 for quick previews and 96x96 or larger when facial detail matters.

Use the count table as an estimate

The DMC-style color count helps you see dominant drill colors. It is a planning estimate, not a supplier-ready order list.

Clean isolated colors

If one color appears only a few times, replace it with a nearby dominant color unless it is important for an eye, outline, or highlight.
